Maternal & Child Health Program (MCHP)Maternal & Child Health Program (MCHP)

MCHP was created to reduce maternal and infant mortality and empower expectant mothers and birthing persons to create a foundation for a healthy family by:

  • Home Visiting Support: Trained professionals provide in-home assistance for up to three years, offering guidance for healthy births and family growth.
  • Personal and Emotional Support: We offer personalized emotional support during and after pregnancy, helping you navigate motherhood and build a strong bond with your child.
  • Resources and Education: Access information and assistance for prenatal and postpartum care, mental health services, job placement, and more.
  • Access to Services: Families are connected to the ACCESS Harris County program for services that promote independence and self-care.

ACCESS Harris County Black Maternal Health CohortACCESS Harris County Black Maternal Health Cohort

Accessing Coordinated Care and Empowering Self Sufficiency (ACCESS) Harris County is a care coordination program that helps vulnerable individuals by connecting them with a team that addresses health, financial, housing, and social needs. This program provides strong support to those facing challenges like health problems, financial and housing instability, substance use, and social inequality. The goal is to improve the health, recovery, and self-sufficiency of Harris County’s most at-risk residents affected by violence.

Maternal Mental Health Services (MMH)Maternal Mental Health Services (MMH)

MMH aims to help individuals and their families across the fertility spectrum navigate the emotional challenges that may present in the perinatal period. Our team of behavioral health professionals connects families to services that enhance their mental and emotional well-being to bring about holistic healing through comprehensive mental health services available to the entire family.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

WIC is a federally funded public health nutrition program administered through the Texas Department of State Health Services. It is exceptional among federally administered programs in that it provides support to a specific population: pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding or have recently had a baby, infants, and children up to the age of five.

Health ServicesHealth Services

HCPH offers community members a range of no-cost or low-cost health and wellness services. The Family Planning Program provides accessible reproductive healthcare to eligible women and men in Texas, aiming to reduce unintended pregnancies, support family planning, and enhance overall health and birth outcomes.

  • Screening for postpartum depression and mental health
  • Physical exams
  • Cervical cancer screening
  • Clinical breast exams
  • Mammography referrals
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Condoms and other birth control methods
